Concert has rasied hundreds of pounds for LMS

(Zizhou Zhang)

On Sunday 6th December, a charity concert was held at SPACe Sports Centre to raise money for our Chinese school.  Nearly 30 students (plus one music teacher) participated in this event, where the instruments were diverse and interesting and the level of ability ranged from those just starting to learn to people who have had considerable experience performing.  The turnout of the audience was surprisingly high, which meant that we needed extra seats in the studio!  This concert was a huge success, and nearly £200 was raised from ticket sales.  We enjoyed watching the performances very much, and we hope this has also provided valuable experience for our younger performers to use in the future.  A big thank you to all who participated and supported the concert, to the audience by buying tickets, and special thanks to Ms Chang Yan and the school for helping with ticket sales and promotions, the SPACe for sponsoring the concert, and to the parents of Yan Jiangrei and Li Sihui for helping with transportation and set-up of all the equipment, including the piano!  The audience apparently wanted more of this in the future, so what this space!

The new year starts with a pop!

Shang team shared their slide show and shared their software. Beijing team brought back tons of books and teacher's "laser gun".

The resources are deposited here if you are interested.

Our school presented a group dance of 五彩云霞 (Colourful clouds) and drama 三只小猪 (The court case between the wolf and three piglets). The pupils were fantastic in their preparation. Everyone got there early (as early as 11:00am) and started working out, all remained devoted right till the end of the long day - after 5:00pm. Their performances were amongst the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhpYnxpZ8Q4   五彩云霞 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIH9BrsUi-8  三只小猪

Celebrating Chinese Festival in China Town, London (photographs)
